Daria Klanac : It is said that similarities exist between Lourdes and Medjugorje. Fra Ivo Sivrić, in his book “Skriveno lice Međugorja” [The Hidden Face of Medjugorje], concludes that Medjugorje is simply a copy of Lourdes. Would six young people be capable of imitating Lourdes without even knowing Lourdes? They, supposedly, are pretending an apparition for the entire world?
Arnaud Dumouch : That is not a standard by which one evaluates.
D. Klanac : If similarities do exist to such an extent that Medjugorje becomes an authentic copy of Lourdes, then why not conclude the opposite, namely, that the similarities prove its credibility?
A. Dumouch : We have the same behavior in life: the same act of kindness towards an enemy will seem to be hypocritical, while it will seem to be pure goodness to a friend.
In the same manner, this argument could provoke two reactions:
– People who believe in Medjugorje would see the mark of the Virgin.
– People who do not believe in Medjugorje would see an act of manipulation.
